I have been engaged in research on devices and system applications related to optical communication. The main research themes I have worked on so far are as follows:
1) Optical Access and Metro Networks
Led pioneering research in Passive Optical Networks (PON) systems to enhance the efficiency and scalability of next-generation broadband services.
Advanced the development of Reconfigurable Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) systems, pushing the boundaries of dynamic wavelength routing and network flexibility.
2) Non-Terrestrial Optical Wireless Communication
Developed and optimized underwater optical wireless communication systems, breaking new ground in the transmission of high-speed data through aquatic environments.
Innovated in the area of surface and near-surface optical wireless communication, addressing challenges unique to marine and atmospheric interfaces.
3) Nonlinear Optical Effects in Device Applications
Applied nonlinear optical phenomena to the development of advanced optical analog-to-digital converters, setting new standards for signal processing in high-speed communication systems.
Pioneered Layer 0 optical encryption technologies, enhancing the security of optical networks with novel encryption mechanisms at the physical layer.
