今年度はオーストラリア現地調査を2回、国内研究会を3回実施した。オーストラリア現地調査では,昨年度までのプレ調査の結果を踏まえ,事例の決定およびライフストーリーインタビュー対象者を決定し,調査をおこなった。その結果は,24年度にCiritical University Studies Conference(香港),日本高等教育学会,大学教育学会で報告することが決定している。オーストラリアの教育専任教員制度の導入経緯とNTEU(高等教職員組合)の関連について京都大学教職員組合支部会で話題提供をした。量的データを用いたものとしては,広島大学が中心となって実施しているChanging Academic Professionサーベイのデータと科研データを組み合わせて,質問紙調査に含まれる自己申告を要する質問に対する回答の正確性を検証した内容の報告をChanges in the Academic Profession in the Knowledge-Based Society and International Comparison(国際会議)において報告した。
これらの活動より,オーストラリアの教育専任教員が成立する背景には特に2000年代に入って盛んに取り組まれるようになった組織的教育に向けての教育改革と大学教員の教育に関する専門性開発(Educational Development)の活動が,教育に関する共通理解や共通言語を形成し,その文脈に絡めながら教育専任教員の役割が語られることで,教育の専門性を持つ教員という位置付けが可能となっているのではないか,という仮説が浮上してきた。
日本では,医学教育や工学教育などコアカリキュラム等が広く共有され組織的教育活動という理解が定着している領域においては,主に教育に従事する教員の存在が専門性を持つものとして受け入れられやすい可能性がある一方で,その他の領域では,教育専任教員をイメージしにくい文脈が存在しているようである。
