    The purpose of this research is to explore the intergovernmental fiscal relations and the grant and regulation systems among central government, local governments and nonprofit housing providers through comparing the housing policy between the United States with low welfare and low burden and Denmark with high welfare and high burden. I have clarified the essence of housing problems and the efforts of social-mixing through interviewing several governmental bodies and nonprofit housing providers. It has significant influence on academic arguments regarding securing living environment in the contemporary capitalist countries.

I have clarified the behavior of the activities of nonprofit housing developers through interviewing several nonprofit housing developers and investigating its ongoing projects. It has significant influence on academic arguments regarding government intervention in markets.

    We are getting ready for publishing the research result entitled " The Development of Globalization and its Impact on Fiscal Systems of Welfare States-An International Comparative Studies-. It will be published at the end of June, 2007. We would like to make a note of our research activities between 2004.4.1 and 2007.3.31, the term of project. 1.We held 27 research meetings at Musashi University, Tokyo University and other places. 2.We went on tours of inspection abroad. They were United Kingdom, China, Korea, United States of America, Sweden. 3.We also went on tours of inspection to Kagawa Prefecture, Shizuoka Prefecture and Nagano Prefecture.

    5年間の研究プロジェクトの総仕上げに向けて、平成14年7月に東大社研国際シンポ「福祉国家の市場論理とアメリカのインパクト」を開催した。従来よりもはるかに広義の福祉国家の概念を構築するとともに、その経済的基盤をなす現代の市場経済システムを、20世紀のパクス・アメリカーナという現実的な視野に位置付ける学問的な試みが、国際的な構成の報告者・討論者を中心に、しかも学際的であるばかりでなく、実務的研究者の感覚も交え、幅広く議論することで、すすめられた。アメリカのインパクトの分析に必要であった20世紀の日米関係を軸にする研究視座だけではなく、アジア・太平洋サイドにおけるインパクト受容のための模索を動因とする国際連帯の可能性を研究するためには、21世紀の米中関係を軸とするアジア・太平洋地域の構造変化という視座も一層重視した。 研究成果として4冊の書物を刊行する。SHIBUYA Hiroshi, MARUYAMA Makoto ＆ YASAKA Masamitsu ed.
