Research on the Actual Conditions of Technology Transfer and Overseas Production

Japanese technology transfer problem with overseas production is investigated from the viewpoints of 'factory ','product' and 'reality'. The achievement of the technology transfer to ASEAN and China from 100 Japanese companies and the role of the Japanese mother factory are discussed.
Overseas production has increased with a strong yen rate and soaring of labor costs in Japan after 1990's. Mainly the middle-standing enterprise and the small and medium enterprises started overseas production. They are increasing income account complementing a foreign production and domestic production mutually, and most company are in the black. In fact the profit of overseas production is supporting Japanese economy. Besides some part of production development project is being curried into foreign countries.
