This study aims to improve piano teaching methods at a teacher-training course where most students do not have a piano. Firstly, “Image Training” was shown to improve their piano performance without actual practice of playing the piano. Then, effectiveness of the “image training” for piano-performance improvement was quantitatively compared to that of actual practicing. Finally, I attempted verbalizing each note to improve performance technique.
