E3ユビキチンリガーゼ、Membrane-associated RING-CH protein I(MARCH I)は、免疫系の制御に様々な働きを持つが、MARCH IによるIgE産生性低下のメカニズムの解析と、その臨床病態との関連性の探求を行うことが、本研究の目的である。
MARCH I欠損マウスの免疫反応は、抗原特異的抗体反応・T細胞反応、特に抗原特異的なIgE反応が著しく減少していた。次に、メカニズムの解析として樹状細胞におけるMARCH Iの欠損が免疫反応低下に影響していることが、明らかになった。以上の結果は、MARCH Iが、易感染性に関与する可能性を示唆するものである。
